sixty
I’ve started driving the speed limit
bumbling some may say
chugging along sixty in the right lane
if you’d like to pass please feel free
but please don’t confuse your anxiety with my problem
A carpenter taught me this pace
or rather showed me it
as his gentle teachings ambled by
leaving quiet lessons with all the significance of the buddha
in quiet memories and small moments
Pushing nothing
well built things don’t require excess force
Life as a meditation
held together in strong, warm, deliberate compassion
With time enough for the wildflowers and changing leaves
In honest labor and real dirt
Humble in it’s origins and divine in it’s simplicity
I will never build something as perfect as a tree
but they can be difficult to sit on with out a little respectful modification
